EMBDC Holds Ribbon Cutting for Care Lodge Community Services Office
Posted December 07, 2011
Meridian, MS - The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Care Lodge Community Services today. The new location is at 1627-23rd Avenue in Meridian. There was a large crowd present to support Care Lodge on this occasion. Among those in attendance were Mayor Cheri Barry, Sheriff Billy Sollie, as well as Care Lodge board members and many other community members. "I am overwhelmed, which is rare for me," said Care Lodge Executive Director Leslie Payne.

Care Lodge is a non-profit organization that has devoted itself to helping victims of domestic violence for the past 30 years in Meridian and surrounding counties. They not only offer assistance and counseling to victims of abuse, but to offenders as well. Their new offices are larger and will allow the staff to hold classes and meetings in the building, rather than locating them in various places around town.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are offered to all members of the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation.
