The EMBDC Has An App for That

The EMBDC is keeping up with the trend bringing its membership a new social media tool for accessing area businesses. "My Chamber App" is a smartphone application that with the touch of a button allows users to quickly secure contact information for chamber members. The app identifies EMBDC members by business category or by performing a search using key words.
Members will be able to include a link to their company websites. The application uses GPS technology so when out of town "My Chamber App" subscribers enter the Meridian area, they will have instant access to EMBDC member information. Conversely when EMBDC members travel to other participating communities, they will be able to search for local chamber businesses.
"The 'My Chamber App' encourages EMBDC members to trade with each other," said Wade Jones, President of the EMBDC. "In addition, members will always have immediate access to EMBDC events in the palm of their hands. Visitors who have this app will be able to find places for shopping, eating and overnight accommodations, so it is great for business and for the community," said Jones.
This exclusive business promotion tool for Chambers works with current SmartPhone products, including iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry. The application is available as a free download from your Smartphone marketplace or app listing, as well as www.mychamberapp.com.
All EMBDC member businesses will be listed on the "My Chamber App" at no charge. Participating Meridian and Lauderdale County Map advertisers will also have their logo, company profile and website link placed in "My Chamber App." This placement is included in the cost of a business card advertisement on the map, which is $399, and is good for one year. Once the map ad sales have concluded, the cost of a website link, logo and company profile in "My Chamber App" will be $295 a year.
