Summer Industries Case Study
In the fall of 2006 the EMBDC had a call from a plant manager considering a move to the area. The company was Summer Industries which leased a facility about 2 hours away in Alabama that had difficulty getting industrial services to support their small but growing operations. The EMBDC worked with representatives of the company who were looking at both Meridian/Lauderdale County and several counties in Alabama to identify existing buildings that would meet their need for 50,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space.
