EMBDC and City of Meridian Promote a Community Beautification Project

The Image Committee of the EMBDC and the City of Meridian are working together to promote a community beautification project to engage local residents, businesses, and community, civic and various other groups to enhance the look of downtown.  The purpose of this project is to make improvements and promote cultural, social and environmental benefits to the green space for the local community at Monument Park.  This green space is located on the corner of 4th Street and 23 Avenue (behind the old Raynor drug store).  In order to fulfill our plan to engage the community, we need your help.  We will have a work day on Saturday, November 14th.  At that time, we need volunteers to help in the following areas:

Irrigation
Picket Fence
Brick Edging
Brick Mason Work
Granite Step Installation
Picnic Table installation
Arbor/swing installation
Bench Installation
Power wash sidewalk
Vegetable garden space
Plant a Day Materials (trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, ground covers, sod)
Top soil
Mulch
Pruning

The EMBDC Image Committee needs to coordinate the workday so if you would like to volunteer for a specific area or make donations, please contact Danielle Winningham at the EMBDC at (601) 693-1306 or dwinningham@embdc.org.

The EMBDC Image Committee and City of Meridian are very excited about this project, and this is a great opportunity to support the beautification of our community.
