The Meridian Symphony League recently held their annual new member preview party to recruit and educate new participants about the fundraising efforts of this community organization. The League raised and donated $15,000 to the Meridian Symphony Orchestra last year. Their largest and most well known fundraiser is the annual MSO Crawfish Boil held in April.
"We are extremely proud of the members of our league and the large impact that we can make in keeping the MSO and entire arts community thriving," said Sara Carmichael, President.
The Meridian Symphony League began in 1962. The founding members were Mrs. Gilbert Carmichael, Mrs. Don Chamblin, Mrs. H.E. Chatham, Mrs. C.W. Fewell, Mrs. James Hefter, Mrs. William Hitch, Mrs. James LeLaurin, Mrs. Frank Peyton, Mrs. Dan Self Jr., Mrs. F.C. Terry and Mrs. L.O. Todd.
The league supports the Meridian Symphony Orchestra by raising money.
