Innovation, Experience, Excellence, Commitment, Service, and Integrity
What began as a full-service environmental firm in 1993 named Eco-Systems, Inc., has grown over the years to become a regional engineering, consulting, and construction firm named Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. Their practice areas have evolved in response to market demands over time, and their professional expertise has been refined to address the needs of core clients. The Meridian office of Allen Engineering and Science, deals with a variety of environmental issues, research, and creating plans to decrease the environmental effects of industry. On a daily basis, they collect samples for inspection, develop strategies for new structure or improving established systems, and monitor regulation practices at job sites. They have backgrounds in soil science, chemistry, biology, and engineering, which they apply to the production of architectural systems that address air pollution, water conservation, recycling, sustainability, and public health.
Meridian is home to steel companies, sawmills, and other industries that emit waste byproducts into the air, soil, and water. Hazardous and non-hazardous wastes have to be discarded safely, and Allen Engineering and Science design the safest disposal methods for your company. Allen ES takes on the headaches of applying for your permits from the EPA and other state and federal departments. Once your permits are granted and business is on-going, periodic reports must be filed with these different agencies, and AllenES handles those, also.
During disasters such as hurricanes, tornados and floods, AllenES has been on-site, working with MEMA and FEMA to help plan and implement environmentally friendly water treatment systems for trailer parks and other temporary housing and industrial concerns. It takes a diverse team of professional engineers, scientists, planners, and construction management teams to provide the
services needed from an engineering company. After Hurricane Katrina, AllenES assisted Lauderdale County with applying for and receiving FEMA money to pay for debris cleanup. They were an integral part of monitoring the debris removed and taken to landfills. Additionally, they assisted with the extensive paperwork needed to be reimbursed by FEMA for the debris cleanup and related costs. With Allen Engineering and Science, your company gets turnkey services from cradle to grave. Their sustainability focus serves as a good steward of the environment and their clients’ pocketbook and balances environmental protection with economic growth.
AllenES is well known for their quality work. In 2020, AllenES was recognized as the largest environmental consulting firm in the State of Mississippi by the MS Business Journal. In 2019, AllenES was awarded the EPA Gulf of Mexico Program’s Gulf Guardian Award for the development of the Nature Base Tourism Plan for Coastal Mississippi. In 2017, AllenES was declared a winner of the Beach Outfall Design Challenge by Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality Coastal Restoration Office.
