In 1972, 1st MS Federal Credit Union first opened in Lauderdale County and now offer checking/savings accounts, CD’s, IRA’s, all types of loans, remote deposit capture, online banking, instant issue debit cards, and a mobile app. They are a part of Shared Branching which gives their members access to their money at thousands of credit unions across the U.S. Shared Branching is a network that allows them to partner with other credit unions to provide surcharge-free access to their account through all 50 states. With over 5,000 Credit Unions in this network, there is no reason members can’t withdraw their money, make transfers or loan payments when away from home.

1st MS Federal Credit Union is member owned. The Board of directors are volunteers who are also members. You, as a member, have the right to vote for these volunteers that govern the credit union. 1st MS Federal Credit Union is not driven by profit and, unlike a bank, does not have to answer to stockholders. If you live, work, worship or attend school in Lauderdale or Clarke County, MS, you are eligible for membership at 1st MS Federal Credit Union. Once you are a member in good standing, your spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents and in-laws are also eligible for membership. 

 

 

The credit Union is driven to help their members reach their financial goals through lower loan rates, higher deposit rates, and customized products and services. Deposits are insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.

1st MS Federal Credit Union is excited to be a part of the Lauderdale County community. They have participated in United Way’s “Stuff the Bus Campaign” and donated gift baskets to the East Central Area Agency on Aging. They provided hygiene items and other goodies to Southern Care Hospice, and collected teddy bears for the Meridian and Quitman Police departments.
