Caring Connections Adult Day Services

It’s 6:00 am.  The alarm goes off, and you’re busy getting yourself, your 2-year-old-child and your 70-year-old mother ready for the day.  After a hectic breakfast and a scramble to get everyone dressed, you manage to get your toddler dropped off at day care before racing off to work, only to worry about your aging mother at home alone all day.

There is a solution.  Caring Connections Adult Day Services; where the elderly can go every day, have fun, eat great food, feel loved and be taken care of in a safe environment.  Caring Connections offers elderly and disabled participants from ages 21 and up daytime programming, emotional support, assistance with everyday activities, and transportation to and from the center in wheelchair accessible vehicles.  They offer breakfast, lunch and snack that is prepared on site by their chef.  They have outings, skilled nursing care, health-monitoring and education and medication assistance when needed, provided by a full-time RN and part-time RN. 

Caring Connections is determined to be a center that does more than just provide a place for the participants to stay all day; they want to make it a fun place because laughter is the best medicine!  They have outings at Bonita Lakes, go fishing, shopping, have fish fries, birthday celebrations and even workouts.  They take the members to church and to city activities, and have daily prayer, worship and praise in the center. “We feel so grateful that God has given us this opportunity to get up daily and serve this community we call home,” says Terri Morrow, RN Director.

Caring Connections services people in Lauderdale, Kemper, Clarke, Jasper and Newton counties.  “Our work does not end when we leave our facility, we go over and beyond for our participants and families when needed,” says Terri.  “There is a large population of senior citizens in Meridian and we want to serve our community through the center.  We are a chamber member because of this desire to help our community.  And the Chamber is very good for business, helping us grow and prosper,” added Pat Thomasson, owner.  “Owning your own business is not easy; you have to work hard and be dedicated to your participants and staff 100%.  A good team is a must for a business to thrive.”

When patients are asked their thoughts about Caring Connections they say; friendly, amazing staff, safe place, inspirational, kind and loving.  If the bus is 10 minutes late, they have people calling to make sure they are getting picked up; they enjoy it that much!  Come tour the facility.  Caring Connections believes they have changed their participants’ lives for the better and helped family members continue their everyday life without the stress of worrying about their loved ones’ well-being.
