Rebranding from Progressive Pipeline to Castle was an opportunity for the company to show their clients how diverse it is within the industry of oil and gas.  The rebrand promotes the diversification of Castle to its clients to prove that the company is not tied to any certain segment in the oil and gas industry. Castle successfully services the entire oil and gas sector in over 36 states throughout the US.  “Rebranding our company was a year-long process, and we didn’t intend to change the name as drastically as we did, but we feel like it was the best decision and are very pleased with the outcome,” says Blake Granados, Marketing Director.  Mike Castle, Jr., President & CEO, adds, “We are proud of what we have done as a company. We pride ourselves on our core values: hard work, integrity, safety, and family. Even if their last name isn’t Castle, our employees know and feel that they are a part of the Castle family. The more I thought about my dad who started the company and his legacy, the name was a tribute to him. He started working on the pipeline when he was 17, and even today, people on the projects call him Castle.” Castle was founded by Mike Castle, Sr., and is now owned by him and two of his sons, Mike Castle, Jr., and Jason Castle.

“Mike Castle, Sr. established Progressive Pipeline in 1999.  He founded the company on the principles of telling the truth, working hard, believing in yourself, and practicing what you preach.  He had been in the industry most of his life and I grew up in the industry”, says Mike, Jr.  I came on board with the company in 2000, when we were located in Tuscaloosa.  In 2001, we moved to Livingston, AL, and in 2008, we relocated to Meridian. When we built our location in Clarke Co., we thought we would never fill all those offices and now we are doubled up and working on our new headquarters downtown.  We hope to have the building renovations completed in December 2021.”

“Ever since we came to East MS, we have been embraced by the people of Meridian and Clarke County. Everyone has been good to work with. I think what we are doing now, getting involved in the community and being a part of Meridian, will be valuable to us as a company.  Being in the chamber gives us networking opportunities to get to know the other business leaders in our area. We are going to be very much involved in the next phase of what Meridian is going to be.  There is such a rich history here and we want to help bring that history into this century.  If we invest in the community like we do with our company, we can make Meridian a better place for everyone.  Pulling executives from Houston or other areas around the country to Meridian can be difficult, but if we all dig in, get involved and engaged, we can make a difference,” states Mike, Jr.

Blake adds, “I grew up here and then moved away for several years.  When I came back, I began to realize what a gem Meridian is.  Maybe it’s because we work in the heart of the city now, but we love being here.  We feel so much a part of the push and movement downtown.”

Castle has four divisions: Pipeline, Integrity, Facility, and Horizontal Directional Drilling.  Each division has a specific leader and a branch of personnel to support the projects assigned to that division of the company. As you can see, Castle does much more than just pipeline installation work. They currently have around 65 employees between their corporate offices.  In the field, they have 150 additional full-time employees and during peak time, depending on project demands, will have a total of over 3,000 employees. “We are one of the last few private, family-owned companies our size in our industry. But we’ve always been more a family than a company.  A simple company, done different.”
