During the 2008 financial crisis, many citizens were taken advantage of; losing their homes, their good credit, and losing hope in the American dream. This dark part of our history left America with a tremendous number of vacant and deteriorating homes and businesses. Since that time, many individuals have found it difficult to find affordable housing, get approved loans and start businesses. 

In 2009, Copeland Holdings LLC, was founded to address these needs. Copeland Holdings LLC, is a real estate investment company that purchases distressed properties and offers them for sale through in-house financing. Their competitive interest rates and minimal credit requirements open doors for first-time home buyers and investors looking to flip homes or begin a rental business of their own. They currently have a portfolio of homes in Meridian and Jackson, MS that are under contract with a list of individuals waiting for an opportunity to purchase. 

Copeland Holdings LLC, has also expanded its footprint in the commercial real estate arena. In 2017, they purchased a blighted/roofless two-story building in downtown Meridian that had been an eyesore for decades. They decided to clean it out, renovate it and in doing so, created one of the most unique open-courtyard event venues in Mississippi. “My ultimate goal is to make this the biggest rental venue in the city of Meridian. I thought it was neat calling it ‘The Ruins’, because of the way it looked and because of its historic nature. My vision is to make ‘The Ruins’ the place you go, to make memories for a lifetime,” said owner, Jimmy Copeland. This venue, seating up to 300, can be rented hourly and allows you to serve your own food and alcohol without a caterer.
