When you think of a warehouse, you think of this huge building with an enormously high ceiling containing huge boxes of staple products.  And you would be exactly right!  A warehouse is kind of like the middle man in the process of getting materials to you, the consumer.  Warehouses are used by manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, transport businesses, and individuals.  They have loading docks to expedite the loading and unloading of goods.  Three things are most important about warehousing besides ample storage; climate control, inventory control and security.  In our town, we have a warehousing company that is the best in all facets of warehousing with totally enclosed and secured self-storage, CP Warehouses of Meridian.

CP Warehouses has four warehouses totaling 450,000 sq. ft., with a state-of-the-art inventory system.  They specialize in railroad and trucking of large paper rolls, some as big as 7’ x 9’.   They have a rail dock to unload from both KCS and M&B Railroads.  Meridian is the furthest eastern location for KCS and CP receives an average of 10 rail cars a month.  When the freight arrives they either store it or put it on a truck and transport it to their customers.
