“You may find this hard to believe, but Drury Inn saved my life. Figuratively speaking. In the mid 90’s, I had never heard of Drury Inn but when my mother was ill and had surgery, I found out all about them. She had to stay in the hospital for several weeks, and the family needed to travel back and forth to Meridian to stay with her. We looked for a place where we could keep rooms for an extended period of time with lots of different family members coming and going day and night. We found the perfect answer at Drury Inn. Every morning we had a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet, before heading to the hospital. Every night, we had a great night’s sleep in our room that began to feel like a home away from home. They helped us in every way they could,” says a satisfied guest.
Drury was founded by the sons of Lambert Drury who started out as a farmer and owner of a plaster business. The Drury brothers learned the values of hard work and dedication from their father. Cutting their teeth on ornamental and plastering work, tile setting and small construction jobs, they learned early on that no detail is too small to overlook. They built service stations, churches, and finally hotels. They built a reputation, then a business. Their first hotel was built in 1959, and now they are the 10th largest Upper Mid-scale Hotel Chain, with inns in 25 states. The family has purchased several historic buildings in different cities over the years for renovation as hotels.
Drury attracts travelers from across the country. The Meridian Drury Inn has 180 guest rooms and suites, a pool and fitness center. General Manager Barry Zinke says, “We offer a complimentary buffet-style breakfast every day. At night, we invite you to “Kickback” with us for a complimentary buffet-style dinner and drinks. You have enough to worry about while you’re traveling. Our best-in-class amenities are provided at no extra charge so you can Travel Happy and focus on the good stuff. Because of the potential of Meridian with its strategic location, we feel it is important to support all businesses in the area. That’s why we joined the chamber.” As a chamber member, he has this advice for business owners, ‘Train your team to take care of the customer, you take care of the team, and the rest will take care of itself.’
“In 1973, my father and his brothers built the first Drury Inn on a simple promise – to provide clean rooms, friendly service, and a good night’s sleep at a good and honest price. Nearly 50 years later, that promise still stands. This legacy gives us a lot to live up to. But I’m confident that our extended Drury family is more than up to the challenge. We will never stop working to earn your loyalty,” Chuck Drury President & CEO.
At Drury Hotels, they want each and every guest to Travel Happy when they are away from home. That’s why they are pet friendly! Drury is happy to be awarded Highest in Guest Satisfaction – a record setting 15 consecutive years in a row – by J. D. Power. So, when you’re ready, Travel Happy Again with Drury Hotels.
