First Assembly Meridian

The Perfect Church for Imperfect People.

If you were to ask the person on the street, “Why is the church important?” you would probably get a wide range of answers.  One answer might be, “It meets many of my personal needs.”  They shop around for a church where they enjoy worshipping each week, getting a needed boost that enables them to cope with life.  FAM offers that boost and much more!  There you will hear a message based out of the Bible that will encourage and challenge you.

First Assembly of Meridian is 103 years old!  FAM began as a tent revival in 1917.  Shortly after, property was given to the church on 8th street and 46th Avenue.  FAM was set in order as an Assemblies of God church in 1921.  FAM’s mission has always been to strengthen families within the church, reach the community with the truth of God’s word, and have an impact on the world around us through missions.  FAM actively supports 32 missionaries both at home and in foreign countries, and five different mission projects in Meridian each year.  FAM is a multi-generational, multi-racial congregation intent on reaching every facet of our city’s and county’s population

Pastor Bob Null has been in the ministry for 38 years, and lead pastor at FAM for the last 22 years.  Having a master’s degree in counseling, his primary focus is ministry to families.  Meridian is home to Pastor Bob and Teri Null, this is where they were raised and where they raised their family.  “The people of Meridian have generous hearts,” says Pastor Null, “and our congregation is always ready to meet a need.  That’s why FAM is a member of the Chamber.  Because we want to do our part to support the essential work of this area. The life and future or our community is important to us.”

FAM has ministry opportunities for all ages.  The Media Ministry has been an encouragement to people across this area for the past 15 years.  FAM 180 is an outreach to individuals with life controlling issues and is actively involved in supporting drug court needs and others in our community.  Lives have been changed through this program.  FAM enjoys contemporary worship in a casual atmosphere.  They offer Kids Church Ministry, ages 4-12; Students Ministry, 12-18; Young Professionals Small Group Ministry, Wednesday night worship and Sunday School.

So, if you’re looking for that church where you can enjoy energetic and inspiring music played by a live band, and a creative, contemporary worship center setting designed for easy participation, look no further than 1929 Highway 19 North.  You belong there!   Real love, real life, and real people. They would love for you to be a part of their family!
