Many people don’t stop to think that Meridian is central to a lot of major areas.  It makes good business sense to be located here, in a small town, yet still in close proximity to several metropolitan areas.  20 years ago Robert Smith started Glass, Inc., providing commercial and residential glass to his customers across the southeast.  No job is too small or too large; they do everything from window panes to skyscrapers.

There’s no other company in MS that really rivals what Glass, Inc. does or that can compete with the scale of their work.  Two to three % of their work is in Meridian and the other 98% ranges from Miami to Texas.  They are the state’s largest glazing contractor and are capable of doing any size glass project.  If there is a high end profile project that’s technically challenging; they migrate toward those type jobs.  They’re able to do these projects because of their highly skilled people. When you have a company where workers consistently stay with the company, becoming more and more skilled at their job, you are able to provide high quality service.  Smith likes what they’re doing and will continue to strive to be the best at it. 

Glass Inc. believes in supporting and giving back to the community.  That’s why they’re a member of the EMBDC.  According to Smith, economic growth is vital to the construction industry and the construction industry is vital to Meridian’s economic growth.
