Starting a real estate business isn’t for the faint of heart.  What other industry requires you to cold call dozens of leads every day?  But in November of 2014, Dustin Hill and Tim Allred started Hill Real Estate Group.  They are a full service real estate firm handling residential properties, commercial, land, and property management. Today, they are the largest firm in our Multiple Listing Service area with more than thirty agents.  They currently have offices in Meridian, Collinsville and Philadelphia and are soon opening in Newton. 

They attribute their growth to staying on the forefront of their industry by using cutting edge technology and keeping up with the changing times.  They also have a very close knit family atmosphere in their office between brokers, agents and office staff.   “This company is really like one big team.  We love what we do every day,” says Dustin.

Starting a new business is never as easy as you think it’s going to be.  “I was already working in real estate for another firm but ultimately wanted to be my own broker and own my own firm.  After I passed the broker exam, I decided to venture out.  Tim Allred and I partnered up and decided to move downtown and open our own business,” says Dustin.  “Be prepared to work harder than you are used to working prior to owning your own business”, he added.  “It takes a lot of hours on the front end to get started.  And treat your customers right.  Satisfied customers refer friends of theirs and those friends become new customers.” 

Hill Real Estate is a Chamber member because they want to be involved in anything that supports growth in this community.  That’s especially important in the real estate business because they can work hand in hand with the EMBDC as they have industrial candidates and other big project representatives come to look over our area.  There are certainly things that have to be kept confidential, but getting updates on industries that are potentially coming here, is exciting.  “In real estate, we feed on positivity surrounding our area.  It’s easy to talk about things that aren’t doing well, but we want to focus on the things that are doing well,” concludes Dustin.
