Insurance Advisory Group, LLC, was founded by Russell Thompson and Bobby Sherrill. They were with different companies and had known each other for years. They decided to partner and in March 1998, established a new independent insurance group, IAG. They now have clients in Meridian, Jackson, Laurel, Philadelphia, and other areas, with some clients having businesses and branches in 8-10 states.

“I think what makes us unique when you compare us to some of the bigger agencies is, we want to do it all for you. We really see ourselves as a boutique agency. We want to hold your hand through the process. We represent 50 different companies and it’s our job to be the go between.  If someone has to be on hold for 30 minutes, it should be us. We would be offended if a client or employee of a client had to call the insurance company because they could not get questions answered by us,” says Russell. “We pride ourselves on being the go-to, whatever your question.  Our clients have our cell phones. Issues don’t always arise from 8-5, M-F, so we try to stay available to our clients and their employees. Even with everything being automated, we still go out to see people face to face. It’s the personal touch that we try to deliver. We help people make decisions on what would help them. We are more consultants than salespeople.”

Insurance Advisory Group, LLC, offers individual life and health, Medicare supplements for those 65 and older, group benefits, travel insurance, and HR compliance solutions. IAG is primarily an employee benefits independent insurance agency. There is the commercial, or business clients side and there is the individual side, for people who need life insurance, travel insurance, and health insurance.
