Kona Ice was started in 2007 and came to Meridian in September 2017. Their business model was built around fundraising. Most of their events are fundraisers for schools, youth sports, and local nonprofit organizations. Since they started, they have been able to give back over $50,000 to our community. This community ‘giveback model’ extends to all Kona Ice franchises, and has resulted in over 60 million dollars being raised for local communities across the US.
“Joining the Chamber was one of the first investments we made after starting the business. The help and support provided by the chamber has been extremely valuable. We knew that becoming a member 
was the first step in connecting to our local business community,” says Brandon Jones, Co-Owner. “And hands down, the people of our community make doing business here worthwhile. We have met so many wonderful people while we have been out in our truck. We schedule specific times and locations where we’re open for delivering it right to your “kurb”. Seeing kids of all ‘ages’, from 2-60 years old, running after the Kona Ice truck never gets old!”
Whether indoors or outdoors, Kona Ice handles a whole variety of events for schools, corporations, daycares, summer programs, youth sports, picnics, weddings, and major sporting events and festivals. The most unique aspect of the business is that they are one hundred percent mobile. Their truck is their storefront. That mobility allows them to bring the Kona Ice experience to wherever you are. Just show them where to park and who to make the check out to! Plus, they come to you! It doesn’t get much easier than that.
