Life is like a book.  Some chapters sad, some happy, and some exciting.  But if you never turn the page, you’ll never know what the next chapter holds.  Going to a retirement home opens a brand-new chapter in life – one in which seniors have fewer worries, make new friends and simply enjoy life’s pleasures.  Meridian Living wants to go through that chapter with you.  Located near Bonita Lakes, restaurants, banks and Bonita Lakes Mall, Meridian Living offers 60 apartments where people find the perfect place to age gracefully.

They offer assisted living apartments, independent living units, and daily activities to help maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.  They provide medicine management, physical therapy, exercise classes, and excursions to the MAX, downtown activities and more.  After breakfast with your friends in the dining room, you can choose one of these interests or you may decide to stay in and play cards, bingo, family feud, or just relax with a little TV or a good book.   For sure, you won’t have to worry about cooking, cleaning or laundry.  All those services are provided for you at Meridian Living.  And the food is just like home cooking!

Meridian Living has 15 staff members, one RN and two LPNs, and their sole purpose is to care for you. The best part of living there is the family atmosphere.  The residents and staff care for each other, and have fun together.  They get to really know each other and share life issues, remedies for this and that, and of course, pictures of grandchildren.  Studies have shown that people who live in retirement communities are healthier and live longer than people who live alone.  In the past, the move to senior housing was primarily made due to need.  Typically, a health crisis forced the issue.  But more active older adults are making the move to senior living communities as a lifestyle choice, so they can take advantage of the services, amenities and opportunities now, and know they have access to health services before they need them.

Meridian Living is interested in keeping the history of our town alive and has local artwork displayed throughout the building that focuses on the beauty and history of this area.  Their business, opening in November, 2019, was founded on the idea of creating a community where seniors could relax and have nothing to worry about.  “We joined the chamber because we wanted to be a part of the bigger picture. We feel appreciated and supported by the chamber.  We love being a part of the larger community.  We even host community bingo once a month!” says Candace Paige, Director of Operations.  “We treat our residents like family and it gives families peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being taken care of.  Family members can visit regularly and even spend the night.”
