Military Cutz

Did you enjoy the Mall Cop movie where Kevin James was riding around on a Segway?  Well, you’ll get a kick out of seeing the folks at Military Cutz riding around your yard blowing grass cuttings away while riding their Segway!  In April, 2016, after 22 years of serving our community both in the Navy and the Meridian Police Department, Travis Ruffin decided to turn his hobby into a business and started his own lawn maintenance company, Military Cutz.

His idea was to enhance and beautify the community through his business; because a beautiful lawn doesn’t happen by itself!  His services include pressure washing, small tree trimming, and regular maintenance, for both commercial and residential properties.  He can develop a lawn maintenance plan for your property and provides superior service for all his clients.  His business is veteran owned and family operated.

Travis says it’s a tremendous effort to get your business off the ground but just stay the course and educate yourself on the financial side of your business, as well as the working part.  Register with the Secretary of State and join associations such as EMBDC to learn how to be more effective as a business owner or entrepreneur.  Constantly learn and adapt your business as times change.  Set a business plan so you can monitor the direction in which your business is heading.

Travis started with the Minority Business Alliance and from there became a chamber member.  This allows him to know what is going on in the community and how it impacts his business.   He added that EMBDC has been very helpful with the things they do and the information they provide him.

So when you see a Military Cutz truck at someone’s property, and Travis riding his Segway, remember, it’s not a Mall Cop; it’s a Yard Cop!
