North Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation with Dignity and Respect

Rehabilitation services and programs are as unique as the individual in need and the ailment from which they suffer. The purpose of a health and rehabilitation center is to return a patient to a normal, healthy condition, whether it is following an illness, injury, or surgery. One of the newest and best such facilities is North Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation. It is a 60-bed all private room facility, fully Medicaid and Medicare certified. They specialize in short term rehab with a large therapy gym and offer outpatient services, after discharge.

There is inhouse physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with outpatient physical therapy, and nurse practitioner services. Meals at North Pointe are planned by a registered dietician featuring restaurant style dining with a varied selection of soups, salad bar, main courses and desserts. Daily activities planned by a certified coordinator include social events, access to two courtyards, a theater room, and inhouse beauty and barber services.

They focus mainly on short term rehabilitation services. They do have some long-term rehabilitation for someone who needs extended care to achieve optimal health. There is also an Alzheimer/Dementia unit that is long term. North Pointe was built seven years ago by Trend consultants, a MS owned and operated company. They have 14 locations in Mississippi, with three locations in Meridian.

Janie Brown, Marketing & Admissions says, “The community is always very generous, and we feel it’s important to return that support through our membership in the chamber. We enjoy doing business in Meridian because of the service we can provide to the older citizens. This area has a large senior population and being able to serve them with specialized services is great.”

“This past year during COVID, families weren’t able to see their loved ones, so we became their family. We formed close relationships with our patients, and they appreciated the love and care,” states Shelley Hale, Administrator. “Meridian serves an area in a 90-mile radius and we are able to partner with the hospitals and medical community to better serve everyone. Getting to serve this population is unlike anything else. This is something you do because you love it. I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
