Meet a Miami Dolphin even a Cowboy’s fan could root for! Former Miami Dolphin defensive lineman, Jason Taylor, teamed up with the Office Depot Foundation in a partnership that calls for Office Depot to donate $25,000 in cash, as well as computers, backpacks and school supplies to the Jason Taylor Foundation. The money and supplies are donated to school systems in South Florida, to be used for at-risk children. The Office Depot Foundation is the primary charitable giving arm of Office Depot. “Teaming up with Office Depot is a tremendous opportunity for us,” Taylor said. “I am excited that our foundation will partner with an organization that shares our passion for helping children in our community and around the world.” Office Depot officials said they were very proud to be on the same team with Jason Taylor.
Office Depot has a commitment to serving the community. Through the Office Depot Foundation, the Give Back to Schools Program, and many other company sponsored initiatives, Office Depot is giving back. Office Depot was begun by F. Patrick Sher, Stephen Doughtery, and Jack Kopkin, who became the company’s founding officers. All three were formerly associated with Mr. HOW Warehouse, a home improvement company that Sher sold to Service Merchandise in 1983. The first store, located at the Lakes Mall in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, opened in October 1986.
