Making Life Better in the Communities We Serve
What a difference a day makes! Volunteerism is at the heart of the culture at Regions Bank. They work year-round to share their time, talents, and experience in support of community partners across the area, and one way they do this is through their ‘What a Difference a Day Makes’ (WADADM) program. Through WADADM, each Regions associate has the option to take one day off per year specifically to volunteer in support of important community projects. Meridian’s branch of Regions Bank is proud of their volunteer efforts across this area. Regions has nearly 20,000 associates across the Southeast, Midwest and Texas committed to making life better for their customers and communities.
Regions Financial Corporation is a member of the S&P 500 Index and is one of the nation’s largest full-service providers of consumer and commercial banking, wealth management, and mortgage products and services. Regions serves customers across the South, Midwest and Texas, and through its subsidiary, Regions Bank, operates approximately 1,400 banking offices and 2,000 ATM’s. Regions Bank is an Equal Housing Lender and Member FDIC.
Regions Financial Corporation traces its roots back to the 19th century and three Alabama-based banks – the First National Bank of Huntsville, the First National Bank of Montgomery, and the Exchange Security Bank of Birmingham. In late 1970, the three banks combined with First Alabama Bancshares, Inc. to form the first multi-bank holding company in the state of Alabama. The new company was grounded in one idea: sound banking principles and new growth opportunities could be combined to create a stronger financial institution for the state. Over the next two decades, the bank grew and expanded to serve additional states. In 1994, Regions Financial Corp. was established to reflect their growing presence throughout the south.
Regions Bank works directly with small-business owners to provide financial tools and solutions to business needs. “In 2020 and now into 2021, Regions has worked tirelessly to help businesses and people weather the peaks and valleys of the pandemic,” says Meridian market executive for Regions Bank, Jeffrey Smith. “We’ve worked with customers one-on-one to understand their unique financial situation and helped provide solutions to address their challenges.
Banking is a relationship business, and we believe in the power of the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation to connect us with opportunities to better serve our customers and our community. We are proud to be a member of the chamber, and we are proud to work with other organizations in the area to push Meridian and all of East Mississippi forward. When we do well as a community, everyone benefits, and the chamber is a great part of that growth.” Regions Bank operates with a very clear mission. That mission is to make life better, not only for the customers, but also the communities they serve.
