In 1985, Jeanne Calvert Jones, along with some friends, started Southern Business Supply, a new locally owned and operated business supply company in Meridian.   They offer office supplies, office and residential furniture, decorative accessories, panel systems, printing, janitorial supplies, and water services.  And most importantly, they offer next day service.  Now, managed by Jeanne’s son Billy Adam Calvert, Southern Business Supply sells over 30,000 products.

Family owned and operated for 35 years, they’ve built their business on customer service; the best customer service in town!  They take good care of their customers; keep their word and let you know they care.  Mike Hillman, salesman, has been with the company 32 years.  They can deliver, next day, everything you need as a business owner to run your company and if you have a return, they pick it up and get you what you need.  

“2020 has been a rough year and people and companies are trying hard to stay in business.  Southern Business Supply is my family’s company and we have put our lives into it.  I started working at the store when I was 8 years old and have kept at it for 34 years!  We feel like our business is helping other businesses as they help us; the unity of the local businesses helping each other.  We love getting to know other business people in the community, who have become our friends. Through our connection with the chamber, we support the community and are more involved with other businesses.  Local businesses help the community through donations to youth clubs, ball teams, etc.  Online businesses don’t do that.  We love seeing Meridian grow and we want to be a part of it,” says Billy Adam Calvert, Manager.
