SuperTalk Mississippi

From the Magnolia State to the World, WZKR

When you were a kid, you listened to the radio station that your parents enjoyed.  Every car had a radio and in the car or in the house, the radio was on.  When you became a teenager, you got your own radio and listened to all the music stations, especially the ones that featured Top 100 song formats.  Now you’re an adult and who listens to the radio these days?  92 percent or more of Americans are listening to the radio.  Our love for radio hasn’t changed.  Radio is one of the most powerful mediums in the United Sates, and 50 million listeners tune into news-talk radio each week. And to top it all, radio is and has always been free.

SuperTalk Mississippi originated from the Mississippi News Network in the early 1980’s.  Telesouth Communications, SuperTalk’s parent company, established the first state radio network in the nation to distribute programming via satellite.  SuperTalk Mississippi is now twelve stations strong and covers all 82 counties of the Magnolia State.  While other radio and television stations are owned by out-of-state conglomerates, SuperTalk is proud to be for Mississippi, by Mississippi and about Mississippi.

Talk radio is a radio format containing discussion about topical issues and consists almost entirely of original spoken word content rather than outside music.  Most shows are regularly hosted by a single individual, and often feature interviews with a number of different guests.  They cover news, current events and sports.  SuperTalk Mississippi brings information about things that are of interest to the people of the State of Mississippi, and has developed a reputation as a trusted source of news.  By being a member of the chamber, they are able to keep in touch with other Meridian and Lauderdale County businesses, and share what’s going on in the area.

While SuperTalk Meridian is part of a big supportive network, at the same time, 103.3FM is a Meridian Radio Station.  “Most folks don’t realize how big and loyal our listening audience is,” says, General Manager, Wanda Russell.  “And our listeners are exactly who you want as your customers.  If your doors are open for business, you need to invite people to do business with you.  Let SuperTalk help you develop a great advertising plan.  Advertising on SuperTalk Mississippi works.  We often get calls from listeners saying they learn something new every day listening to our station.”  The human voice via radio connects on a massive scale, especially in smaller communities.  For politics, news, sports and the good things happening in Mississippi – the Conversation Starts Here.
