The McGinnis Lumber Company, Inc. was founded in January, 1922, by J. Earl McGinnis, who served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company until his death in 1969.  James E. McGinnis, Jr. served in that same capacity for the next 36 years before turning over management responsibilities to James E. (Jim) McGinnis, III, in 2005.  This company is one of the oldest forest products wholesalers in the country, operating for 98 years under continuous family management.  Their primary focus over the years has always been to provide a quality product at a competitive price, on time, and to transact business with a high level of integrity and trust. 

McGinnis is a wholesaler of forest products, primarily pine and hardwood lumber, timbers, pallets, and corrugated products to a wide range of industrial customers.  They employ 17 people in sales, clerical, and management positions and their sales territory extends into 42 states and 4 foreign countries.  The buying staff has over eighty years of experience with the company.

The lumber industry has always been important because trees provide a renewable resource for use in constructing houses, other buildings and all things wooden.  Lumber has become the basis for a multidisciplinary and diversified industry that produces a variety of products.  The lumber industry has been and will continue to be a staple for life.
